Pool Screen Cameras
A lot of pool homes in Florida have pool screens. The pool screen is manufactured of a hollow core aluminum frame and most of the times this structure can serve as conduit to run LV wiring thru it. As the picture shows we installed 3 cameras in the corner of the home on the pool screen to accommodate the best possible view of the pool are , side yard , and back yard.
It’s very important that the camera is placed in the best possible location not the easiest location . Make sure that you use outdoor rated UV coated wiring for this type of installation and do not make any holes in the structure that are larger than 1/4 inch. And never remove any screws that have been installed by the screen company . Last tip do not remove any of the screen it’s very difficult to install again properly once it has been removed on any side. At safecam we have all the accessories , wiring and hardware that you would need to accomplish this or any other installation.

Hard wired is still hands down the better option.
Unfortunately consumers are being sold DIY systems like ring , skybell , just to name a few and are not being told that these systems have very large gaps in securing your home or business. Don’t misunderstand me, they are great add on’s to a professionally installed security camera system but that’s all they are add on’s. You should not put these devices in place of a hard wired system that is always recording with or without internet.
Unfortunately if your internet happened to be down during the incident or your motion setting were set to low the video would not capture. We recommend that you adjust your motion settings and test them at night as well as in the day. Ring has multiple motion zone settings that will allow you to do this. Also consider adding a camera that is wired to a local recorder as well as cloud backup. This will record incidents even if your internet happened to be down. Internet service providers tend to do updates and services on their networks during the same times that are more prevalent for criminal activity because of the slow internet traffic at those times. The provider assumes that they will affect less of their clients during these times. Go to a local licensed professional and look at the options that you may have. Don’t expect your internet provider to secure you , your belongings or your family. It’s not their job. They just provide you internet.

Elevator Security Cameras.
We’ve all seen leaked video footage of people in elevators. Often the images are of celebrities or athletes caught in the act, so to speak. Other times the footage is attached to a legal case and the video is being used as evidence. No doubt you’ve gotten into an elevator and spotted a camera pointed right at you. You might have wondered about the legality of security cameras in public places. While cameras are allowed – within reason – there are rules governing when and how such devices can be used.
According to FindLaw.com, “In order to avoid violating privacy laws, cameras in elevators must serve a legitimate business purpose and avoid intruding into a person’s reasonable expectation of privacy. For this reason, elevator security cameras are installed at a high vantage point and only record video. Recording audio without permission would be in violation of federal wiretapping laws.”
Elevators are out to the public so there is never any guarantee of your privacy. It’s a good idea to always remember that cameras could be on you at all times, so take appropriate caution.
At SAFECAM we stock and will help you design a system that will work on your existing or be constructed elevators. We will explain what are you options with existing wiring on the elevator and what type of camera you should use.

Is A bigger TV always better?
When it comes to TV size it’s important to consider the room size that the TV will be installed in and the average distance of the viewer from the seated position to the screen. Even though we would all like a huge 85″ TV or even larger it’s not always practical. Bigger is not always better.
Screen size and resolution
First, remember, TVs are measured diagonally. So a 42-inch screen measures 42 inches from one corner to the opposite corner.
Next, you have to consider the resolution of the TV. That’s because the higher the resolution, the closer you can sit before you’ll notice pixelation in an image. That means you can sit closer to a 4K TV (3840 x 2160) than you could a 1080p TV. This is an important factor to consider when thinking about screen size; because you can sit closer to a 4K set, you don’t need to get as large a TV to fill your field of view as you would with a 1080p TV.
Consider the room in which the TV will sit. As long as the furniture in that room is not permanently attached to the floor — and you’re willing to move it — then you have some flexibility in the size of the TV you can get.
Take for instance the picture on this post a 85″ TV in a room that measures about 15 feet in width and 22 foot in length with a viewing distance of of about 9 feet because it’s a 4K TV if this were a 1080P we would recommend the viewer to sit 12-13 feet away.
Hanging the TV on the wall, on the other hand, can add a foot or more to the viewable distance, which can be the difference between a 60-inch TV and a 72-inch model. Depending on what sort of mount you use and the thickness of the TV, your screen will still sit a few inches from the wall, but the specifics will vary from one model to the next.
What’s comfortable for you?
The typical TV-watcher sits 9 feet from the tube, which brings us to the comfort factor: Most people like to sit far enough away from a TV that the pixels almost don’t factor into the equation. So, feel free to experiment with the placement of your new TV, and it never hurts to go a little bigger than what you think you’ll need.
Viewing angle (TV Height)
This is another thing you have to consider and we will discuss this in another post.
